Storage geysers, as the name suggests, have a large water tank with the capacity to store hot water and also keep running throughout the day to warm the water according to the pre-set thermostat. They are a more reliable option for a large family or in case you live somewhere where you face load shedding or power outages as a routine. 

If you have four or more members in your family or any of your family members are elderly people or kids, you might need to go with storage geysers as they will work best for your loved ones where you don’t need to risk the health and safety of your loved ones during the chilly winters.

You need to have strong wiring that can bear the load of high voltage consumption by the geysers and as a safety measure you may switch on the geysers five minutes before use but switch off the electric supply while using to avoid any mishap.
• In case of instant gas geysers, you need to be careful as there are so many sudden blasts due to gas accumulation in the closed bathroom, so it’s always recommended to switch off the power supply of the instant geysers before you start using them.

While making the final decision you need to look for multiple factors which include the required capacity as the first and foremost factor. If your consumption is somewhere between 3 litres to 15 litres of hot water, you may go for instant geysers. If you need 6 litres to 25 litres of hot water, both options will work for you. But if you need more than 25 litres of hot water, you should go for storage geysers.

You should be aware of the cost differences. Instant geysers may cost you somewhere from 15K to 25K but that’s not the only expense they also need heavy wiring. However, storage geysers may cost you around 25K to 45K. The pricing for both options depends on the size and brand of the water heater.
